DXS isn't always the best solution. I myself have multiple optical inputs going into my main amplifier and have it auto-switching between them. But, I also have the analog outs from the changers going to a mixer that is then split 3 ways to go out to 2 other amplifiers in the house as well as to a PC for a ShoutCast audio stream. A good analog mixer is necessary for this.
