Your understanding is correct - I just placed the Niles microflasher over the Slinke's built-in IR Receiver port(Rx0). My only current use for this Niles-Slinke interface is to control CDJ via a Pronto remote (specifically to select Random Genre Play via the CDJ device mapping feature.) I still drive my Sony CD jukebox directly with another Niles microflasher so I can use it when my PC is not on, or to select songs by Disc number using the Pronto (All my CDs are directly selectable from the Pronto by Artist Name/Album Name).
