#3 - My system has done this for a long time (cur ver.1.32 build 1918(11/20/00). While CDJ is running, I usually have to OPEN the player and remove the disc that CDJ thinks is gone. Turn off the player. Then when it comes back on, I open it and put in the CD. Close the door and load the CD with that player's controls. After a short wait CDJ should recognize it is there and the ghost disc image will turn solid and the asterisk will go away.
