Long playlists get longer when saving

I've noticed that when I save a very long playlist (800 CDs worth of songs for example) and then load that playlist again, it will have grown slightly. It appears as if a number of tracks from the end of the playlist are being copied, and then appended to the entire playlist upon saving. Can anyone else reproduce this? It seems to only happen for very long playlists.
