Here's the problem. The number in brackets is supposed to be a decimal number. It says so in the documentation, but I apologize for the difference between the lowlevel and the S-Link commands (which are hex). What you need to say is:

'pardir[255]'

I did this for the convenience of VB programmers so that they wouldn't have to hex format their numbers before passing them to SlinkX.
