Yes, I did it this way on purpose. My thinking is that it is the tracks that have the majority of the information regarding the content. Typical queries such as

* What CD(s) has song X?
* What CD(s) have artist X? (remember you can have multiple artists per CD)
* What CD(s) have a song with the lyrics YYYY in them?

fit into this category.
