I hate to ask this but... did the problem happen while using CDJ or during normal Sony operation. I have had 1000's of hours of error-free operation prior to setting up CDJ. The jamming first happened in CDJ while creating the library. About 20 discs jammed before I could stop it. Now it ramdonly jams on normal operation. Maybe it was user inexperience with CDJ or I'm hoping that using CDJ was a conicidence not a cause. What was your experience. Thanks.

I have probably done as many disc loads as anyone, and I have never had a jam. Maybe I'm just lucky, but my guess is that it is a player alignment issue more than a software control one. Searching for discs is just going to manifest this problem more rapidly. As far as I've seen, all of the player transports are identical, so they should be equally likely to fail, unless there is some fault in the control code which is specific to certain units. I don't have a CX270 around here, but I have been borrowing the controller-identical 90ES for the last month or so, and it doesn't seem to jam either. I could certainly slow down the disc search process, but I really doubt that this will prevent jamming, if you have that problem.

P.S. I *have* had jams subsequent to moving the players if I forget to remove the disc in the playback transport.
