I'm not sure what's going on, as it seems to be working when I try it. If it's any help, here's what the file settings look like in Explorer for me:

Application used to perform action:

D:\Nirvis\slinke\cdj\cdj.exe /dde

Use DDE (checked)

DDE Message:
