I am in the final throes of using a PC for complete home theatre control, with the CDJ running to control the sony changers. The PC has an internal board to control IR and X10, so it acts as a large remote. The PC has the ATI All-IN-Wonder video board which gives a full tv (NTSC, S-VIDEO, Cable TV tuner) capability and allows easy inegration into a home theatre. In effect the ATI board accepts NTSC or S-Video or Antenna RF; can put it anywhere on the screen (my wife sets it as wallpaper and watches soaps while working) at various sizes in a window, and will convert (output) in S-video or NTSC the entire screen image (640x480).
