Pioneer Elite TV IR frequency

My Pioneer Elite Projection TV uses some IR frequency for control other than the normal. It is not documented in the specs. I am pretty sure that the codes will work if transmitted at the normal frequencies but I have no way to learn the codes since I cannot get any learning remote to receive the signals. Is there an easy way to determine the frequeny of the Elite remote?
