Product suggestion

Given the launch of DXS, I was thinking that you are probably going to get a bit bored soon :-) so I thought I chip in a product suggestion.

One thing that I'd find really useful, but don't have the capability to build is an addressable combined backlit LCD display that has IR RX/TX emitters built in and possibly a microphone and some buttons.

The idea would be to provide a simple all-in-one solution for interaction with CDJ, slink-e and DXS.

Display would have a programmable s-link based interface that would allow display of album information, choosing sources, etc.

Making the unit addressable would allow separate display information for each room.

IR capability would provide something obvious to point at. (My girlfriend would like this!)

Microphone would provide for speech control.

Unit could also have some buttons that could be used as a context sensitive control.

If there was a nice simple way to feed power and carry signals via RJ45 terminated CAT 5 UTP, it would make it simple to hook up.

I can't imagine that this is rocket science, but well beyond my abilities.

Given your obvious talents, I'd guess that it would be very easy.

Hardest thing is probably putting the whole thing into a package that has a degree of wife/girlfriend acceptance! For ideas in this direction something along the lines of the packaging of the Bang & Olufsen answer machnine would be nice.
