The reason this procedure is not documented is that it was never intended to be the method you would use to generate device files. I'm been meaning to get back to creating a version of E-Z which allows you to make 2-way device files, but I'm coming up against the reality that general purpose 2-way file generator will be too complex for most people to use and will create lots of support headaches. If a template file with the timing information of the remote brand exists, the process is relatively straightforward. Generating your own templates is more difficult process to describe however. Currently, I have templates for a decent number of brands, but many of them are untested. Our long term approach may be to just generate a large IR library internally instead of creating complex tools for the users to try to get working. For CDJ, we may begin shipping it with an optional remote which will already have a 2-way device file for it and some pre-configured macros in CDJ.

On a side note, very few of you are sending me the devices files that you generate, which sould certainly make things easier for everyone.

Colby
