Hi Mike-

1) Repeating IR has nothing to do with device files, so don't worry about that aspect.

2) If you have a Slink-e V2.3 or earlier, there is a problem with the echoing where you must have every input routed to at least one output or the echoing may discontinue working. The output you echo to does not need to be connected to anything - e.g. you set every input to echo to IRTX 7 or something similar to that. Give that a try and see if it works.

3) Make sure your settings are saved to eeprom so that if the slink-e reboots for any reason, it will have the same echo settings.
