Using Xantech Connecting Blocks

In my current configuration, I have an IR receiver next to my TV. In the cabinet is a Xantech 4-emitter connecting block (Xantech 789-44). Each one of my components has an IR emitter over the receiver.

I installed my Slink-e, and created simple lowpass filter connection that Colby posted at http://www.nirvis.com/xantech.htm. It seemed to work for a little bit but then I noticed that the power light was a solid orange. It only goes back to green when I unplug the cable to the connecting block. Does this mean that the lowpass filter has shorted out?

Also, when I plug by Sony DVD player into the s-link port, the light also turns orange. I am using the mono plug cable that was provided with the slink-e and have tried a couple of different cables with the same result.

Any ideas on what is going on here?
