Here's my reply to Barry - Colby

I understand why it's not working the Slinke PSU is at a lower voltage than the Xantech, causing the circuit to be always on. If you put a couple LEDs in series like this, it should work.

----------- Xantech +12V

/

LED LED 1k |L Slink-e Transmit -|<|---|<|--/\/\/\----| 2N4403 or similar PNP

|\

\

----------- Xantech signal line

Slink-e Ground -------------------------------------- Xantech Ground

(this connection is necessary)

Colby, I tried the circuit you sent me.

----------- Xantech +12V

/

1k |L Slink-e Transmit ----/\/\/\----| 2N4403 or similar PNP

|\

\

----------- Xantech signal line

Slink-e Ground ------------------------------ Xantech Ground

(this connection is necessary)

As soon as I plugged it, in all of the IR emitters on the xantech system went on. For some reason it appears that 2n4403 is switched on or is switching very rapidly. I did not look at it with a scope.
