CDJ 6/12 beta can't find my Slink-e

I just traded my CDP-CX335 for a CDP-CX400. The CX335 worked fine with CDJ 4/11 release.

The CDJ 4/11 release found the Slink-e and the player, but identifies it as 146 discs. Based on the discussions here, I downloaded the CDJ 6/12/00 beta (which should support the CX400), installed it into the same directory as the old (4/11) code. Now CDJ does not find any Slink-e's.

I uninstall CDJ and re-install the 4/11 version, It finds the Slink-e fine (Slink-e 2.4 on COM 4). I reload 6/12 version, no Slink-e's found.

The Port Diagnostic pane shows:

Can anyone out there give me any advice on how to debug this problem? Are there any known problems with 6/12 beta that could explain this?
