[slinkelist] Image Files

Brian,

I understand why the files end up where they are, the browser is handling
the file management. The problem is when one machine is running NT and one
machine is running win 98, the likelihood of having the exact same path to
the images on each machine is slim, let alone the same drive letter, and if
I am trying to access the database of covers from a remote machine the paths
will always be different. I am not asking for cdj to add any new features,
only to set their location of the cover images as a selectable path rather
than defining the exact path of each cover art file. If cdj were to allow
the path to the images to be set in the software, as many other programs do,
then the program would always look for the images in the image directory and
each image would not need a path to it at all, the path would still be
selectable, but all you would need to identify each cover image is the name
of the cover, e.g.. "sting brand new day.jpg" and not
"F:\WINNT\Profiles\DALE\Desktop\CD covers\sting brand new day.jpg" the path
could be constant as in my case would be F:\WINNT\Profiles\DALE\Desktop\CD
covers and this could be set once, inside the program, and then forgotten.
This solves the portability and allows any machine on the LAN to use the
covers folder. The location or path to the covers folder is not needed in
this scenario. The simple way to do this is by having cdj point to a
directory and then select the individual covers from that directory, not to
specify the path to each individual cover.

Thanks,
Dale
