Matt:

The 2.4 Gig spread spectrum units are OK for repeating TV quality sound =
from room to room but are not suitable for listening to your MP3's while =
weeding the garden because they are wall wart power line powered and =
have line level rather than low impedance (headphone) output and several =
other problems like no volume control, extremely directional antennas, =
etc. In other words, barring modifications, these are unsuitable for =
portable (mobile) application.

I use these from time to time when I need to send a vcr or dss program =
to another room, and they work quite well provided you don't try to go =
through more than one wood and gypsum wall, or more than about 100 ft. =
line of sight. X10 sold these together with a small color camera for 88 =
bucks some months ago. You might peek at their site and see what they =
are today. A word of warning... if you get on their mailing list, =
they'll bury you in emails.=20

Subject: [slinkelist] Other Options for distribution?

After reading all the posts on the FM solutions, I've been wondering =
if anyone has had any experience with the 2.4Ghz A/V repeaters? These =
are found at Radio Shack (X10, etc.) and are only ~$100(pre-assembled). =
This would negate any problems with too much power and the FCC. But, =
how well do they work?

  Thanks=20
