You might look at the Voyetra Montego II.  It runs fine under Win2K.
Haven't tried the TOSLINK yet though.

I'm still trying to find an affordable (<$125) soundcard that will work on
Windows 2000, that has digital out (preferably toslink but I'll take coax),
and which has native 44.1khz support so it won't resample my mp3's.
