There are several shareware programs available that will check CDDB and allow you to enter and submit new entries (also to make corrections to faulty entries). Keep in mind the CDDB only works because folks take the time to enter missing data and submit it.
CDJ will eventually allow you to correct faulty entries but not allow you to create new ones from changer data due to the inaccurate table of contents (TOC) data provided by the Sony players. If added CD-ROM support, you could.
Colby, several of the other programs accessing CDDB have a much larger list of CDDB mirror sites
than CDJ. Several can query CDDB to update the list of available mirror sites.
The opposite may actually be true. CDJ does not have a canned list. When you hit the Locater Servers button, it queries CDDB for servers. In reality, there are only 2 servers operating anymore. One at Escient in Indiana, and one in Fremont run by Steve Scherf. Steve says that reliability has actually gone up since reducing things to these two "internal" servers.
