I'm still not sure why I need the low level stuff, I was just trying to find the device code per your help file by iterrating thru **0F.

I am trying to interface with a Sony STR-G3 receiver. It was an early Visiontouch receiver. The control port is labelled Control-A not Control-A1. The connector is a stereo mini-plug. I have it hooked up using a RadioShack stereo to mono adapter. I am getting 1V between the tip of the plug and the base (the plug going into the slinke), which is what I get with the normal mono cable you supplied hooked up the a CX270. I cannot get anything on the STR-G3 to work.
