Regarding the cable, I have info at

I haven't really been able to put my finger on excatly what the differences between Control-A and A1 are. Generally the A devices seem to support less of the commands. Players like the CX153 work, but the CX151 doesn't seem to understand the commands at all, but still claims to be Control-A.
