Thanks for the reply. Judging by the way the separates operate together, I'm pretty sure everything is bi-directional (in other words each separate knows and acknowledges what the others are doing). I used a digital oscilloscope to determine voltage levels etc.. I'm not sure whether it's active high or low. The signal is more than likely frequency modulated. The connectors are 3.5mm stereo, so one conductor is a common ground, one is RX, one TX? Can I experiment with SlinkE's IR rx 7/TX 0 modular port using straight-thru cable's green and yellow wires? (without damaging SlinkE). I'm assuming that, in theory, I can wire SlinkE's IR TX out for the device into SlinkE's RX input and vice-versa.
