[slinkelist] Maximum length of s-link cables

Does anyone have practical experience with trying to use a
much-longer-than-recommended-by-Sony s-link cable?  My
slinke and one changer are downstairs in the basement, and
I have a new changer upstairs I would like to connect--but it
will take probably a 20-25 foot long cable to connect them.  I have
some pretty good quality mini-coax cables (originally intended for a 
now-defunct Simply Lantastic network) with the right connectors, 
but I'm reluctant to go to the trouble of fishing them through the
walls if it simply isn't going to work.
