Hello all,
I've lurked in this list enough. I feel compelled to weigh in on this
subject.

Virtually every feature I have seen on your wishlists is a feature that
would serve only a small portion of the CDJ users. In some cases, the
request is specific to a single hardware and software configuration. Colby
is just one person. And from what I can tell, CDJ code must be complex
enough that even Colby has trouble making a modification without breaking
other features. From where I sit, there is only one solution to these
problems:

Colby can release CDJ into the public domain, but maintains "ownership" of
the official releases. If you want a feature, either you add it yourself
(and submit it back to the community) or you lobby the community to have
someone add it for you. This way, features that would benefit us all will
make it in. Single-purpose features would be the responsibility of the
requester. It has worked for Linux, VNC, GNU, etc...

My two cents...
